Should you exercise when you’re sick?
Currently I am lying in bed sick with a high fever and I thought I’d adress a common question.
Should you workout when you’re sick?
And the answer is yes,no, and maybe.
Now that may not make sense but basically it’s up to you and your body. Some people feel like sweating it out helps you recover and get better while others feel like it furthers your sickness or sick feeling. And for some it depends on the extent of their sickness. For me personally I feel like I need to be fully rested and healthy in order to get a full workout in, especially if my chest or Iungs so to speak are agitated while I’m sick, working out only makes it worse. As hard as it is to step back and take a break, it’ll help me in the long run. So the decision is yours. And be honest with yourself.

Flab to Fit Challenge: Week 3 Overview
Hello fit fam!
Sorry for the lack of an update on week 2, hurricane matthew really messed up my organization since I had to travel out of the area. I hope everyone is safe and well.
For an update, I have continued training and eating healthy and I honestly feel the good habits forming. I no longer really crave the bad food I used to eat constantly. I occasionally will crave a little chocolate or something and will treat myself slightly but other than that we’re all good. Now I’m getting a problem with over indulging in the good foods I’ve been making for myself, which isn’t necessarily bad for me except I really am set on sticking to tracking my macros for this whole journey. Regardless I’m not getting bogged down about it. I’ll just keep working on getting better. The past two weeks have been extremely stressful for me with exams so this week I’m ready to kill it in the gym and really give it my all. I can already feel that this week is going to be a good gym week. Keep pushing guys! We’re already 3 weeks down ( it takes 21 days form a habit btw) 5 more to go! I believe in each and everyone of you! If you ever make a mistake during this journey just remember. Don’t be better tomorrow, or next week, or on Monday (everyone’s favorite restart day, including mine sometimes) be better next time. One slip up won’t kill you, just get back up on the horse right after, not days later when your horse is long gone!
Get some sleep, stay hydrated, get a good lift in, and keep on going fit fam
Flab to Fit Week 3
We’re approaching the end of week 3 and I know that everyone who’s following along my journey with me has made themselves and me proud! Keep working hard. Fall as many times as you want but get up even more!
The Truth: Getting Back Up.
I think it’s about time I post an explanation on why I’ve been MIA.
When I first started this blog, I was so motivated, I was seeing results, super on track, and feeling amazing. And then life hit me…
Me and my boyfriend who I was in love with broke up and it was honestly devastating.
I started the semester great. I was taking 20 credits but I was doing amazing. I had my life on track: I had a study schedule, set times I would go to the gym, and some how even time for a social life. But when the break up happened I was so heartbroken that I could not do anything. And when I say anything, I mean I could do nothing. I couldn’t get myself to go to the gym, go to class (and when I did I would catch myself waking up from being zoned out for long periods of time), do work, even sometimes get out of bed. I let my fitness and academics go, and shortly after I let my nutrition go.
Now, the semester has ended for me, and after having to work super hard to keep my good grades after a month of neglecting work, I’m more motivated than ever. Tomorrow I will get up in the morning, have a pre workout breakfast, and have a kick ass leg day. Tomorrow I pick myself back up. Tomorrow I am getting up.
Get up with me. We got this fit fam.
Flab to Fit: Week 2 Goals
Tomorrow is the start of a new week! Put any “mistakes” (although I don’t think they should be called this because you only live once right? Enjoy your life and move forward and improve!) behind you and put all your efforts onto the week ahead of you. This week is going to be especially hard for me since I have 4 midterms this week, but nonetheless consistency and planning is key. I know that if I put my mind to it and plan ahead I can keep hitting my macros and getting my workout sessions in.
Here are some goals for the week:
-water,water,water
-go grocery shopping and get creative with my meals
-implement healthy snacks to help with fullness
-drink green tea to help metabolism
-PR in assisted pull ups (one day no assist haha)
what’re some of your guy’s goals?

8 Week Flab to Fit Challenge (Week 1 Overview)
I recently decided to go 8 weeks straight of totally investing myself in my fitness and diet regimen and just give it my all to start seeing results. Over all its pretty general guidelines, Macro counting Monday-Friday and intuitive eating on the weekends (with one or two cheat meals if I crave, if not then it’s not necessary), as well as going to the gym 3-5 days on the weekdays, Monday and Friday being absolutely necessary and concrete (never miss a leg day!) and weekends optional plyo and HIIT training.
Over all, I’d have to say that week one was a complete success. I hit my macros almost everyday and on the days that I intuitively ate I chose pretty well for myself without falling too far off the spectrum. I’ve noticed my workouts have been going so much better (have a lot more energy, bigger pump, etc.) and I feel that eating so well does give me some leeway to enjoy myself when I crave it without feeling guilty or feeling like my body changed completely in one sitting of a meal. At the end of the 8 weeks I will post transformation pictures. I encourage everyone to go a long with me on this journey. Don’t set yourself on something too strict, the main goal of my challenge is to just be better. I didn’t set too intense or extreme goals, however I know that the regimen I’m setting myself on will make me better and create good habits over the 8 weeks that will carry on with me. Keep on going fit fam, we got this!
